E-Mails from Missionary Ash McEuen

Brothers and sisters in Christ: Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was hoping to have a newsletter put together by now, but I have not had the time. I will get one out as soon as I can. Until then, we have a prayer request: We made application to language school in Costa Rica that is to start on August 27th. On the assumption that we would be enrolled (we had no indication we would not) we bought airline tickets for July 15 to fly down so we'd have time to get settled and used to the community before classes began (Also, we wanted to beat any rate hikes for tickets.) This morning we still had not heard from them about the status of our application, so I e-mailed them. A few minutes ago I received a reply saying they did indeed receive our application but that they had reached maximum enrollment and we are on their waiting list. I quickly e-mailed back to see if we'd still get help for housing even if we have to wait an additional trimester. A response came back in a matter of minutes saying if -- in worse case scenario -- we do not get in to the school for the August semester, the registrar will personally help us find a house. That is a relief to us, but we still have some concerns. We will know in about a week if there is room for us at the school. If not, we will find another way to learn Spanish while we wait. (The second part of our training in Colorado gave us numerous tools to learn outside a language school setting.) We ask you to pray, and not to worry. Things will work out. We are confident in this. Please pray that all will go smoothly and according to God's plans--not ours. That's what its all about anyway, isn't it? Thanks for all you do for the Kingdom of God. Brothers and sisters, Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for praying for our needs in Costa Rica and language school. God heard those prayers and this afternoon we received an answer in the form of an acceptance e-mail to the fall trimester. The academic director opened up more spots and they were able to include us. Praise God! Thank you for your faithfulness and your prayers.
